J. Cole Keeps Promise, Attends Fan’s College Graduation Years After Going to Her High School Ceremony

J. Cole kept his promise to attend a fan’s college graduation after meeting her almost ten years earlier.

On Wednesday, the “London” rapper was spotted at the graduation ceremony for Rowan University’s class of 2022 to celebrate one of his biggest fans, Cierra Bosarge, on her big day. Their friendship began when Bosarge of Glassboro, New Jersey, called a radio station in 2013, expressing her desire to have Cole wish her a happy birthday. Three months later, the then-high schooler got that call she’d been waiting on from the Dreamville rapper, who invited her to Philly.

Once they met officially, Bosarge gave Cole a handwritten note detailing her rough life in the foster care system while her parents were in prison on drug charges. The letter asked the rapper if he’d be willing to attend her high school graduation since her parents could not. He agreed to show up to B Bosarge’s high school ceremony under the stipulation that she gets accepted into college. The young woman kept her end of the bargain and maintained her grades, ultimately being accepted into Rowan. Cole attended both graduations.

Bosarge shared a sweet post on Twitter standing next to her idol with a caption from his hit record, “Nobody’s Perfect.”

She also posted a memorial video showing photos of Cole at her high school graduation with the caption, “crying y’all…brb.”

Following the ceremony, Bosarge spoke with the Daily Voice, describing how it felt to have Cole’s support.

“It means everything to me. Having the people that matter to me show up for me meant so much. I definitely feel the love and that’s what I needed,” the 25-year-old revealed.
