Sunday rumors began floating around that #Drake had reached out to one of his mentors, who happens to be a highly influential person in Hip Hop, for help in his beef against Pusha T.
Since then, audio has been released confirming that it was indeed the opposite.
According to Houston exec J Prince, he actually called Drake and advised him not to respond to #PushaT’s latest diss record, #TheStoryOfAdidon.
“I made an OG call to Drake this morning tellin’ him ‘I don’t want you to respond to this’,” the Rap-A-Lot Records CEO said. “We gon’ put this to bed because we can’t get in the pigpen with pigs because pigs turn into hogs and then hogs get slaughtered. We didn’t work this hard to get slaughtered over nothin’.”
Prince also explained his take on the shots made towards Drake’s family and friends.
“A man to attack a man’s mother, father, a man who’s dying — I feel that’s disrespectful,” he said. “If you wanna leave it on a level playing field — I get at you, you get at me, then bring it on, let the best man win. Imagine we got into a fight and I go whip your momma ass, I hit your daddy in the jaw… I call it a pigpen mentality.”

Many excuse the multiple references to Drake’s loved ones because of a line in Drake’s #Duppy freestyle where #Pusha T’s fiancé was mentioned. The line goes as follows:
⠀
“And I’ma let it ring on you like Virginia Williams.”

While many have been calling for a response from Drake, the rapper has always expressed his respect for #JPrince and the influence that he has on him. With that being said, this rap beef might just be over.
