Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies won’t be disciplined until after the NBA Finals.
On Thursday, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver opened up about the NBA’s investigation into the Morant situation.
He said the league has “uncovered a fair amount of additional information” and “probably could have brought it to a head now,” but they would hold off out of respect for the players and teams vying for the Larry O’Brien trophy.
This is the second time that Morant has been suspended for flashing a gun on Instagram Live.
Two months prior, he was suspended for eight games after flashing a gun in a Denver strip club and displaying it on his page.
In an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews after his most recent suspension, Silver revealed details of his one-on-one conversation with Morant after the initial incident, admitting the two never considered the possibility of a repeat offense given the gravity of the first offense.
