Jackie Christie and her daughter Chantel have never had the smoothest relationship, but things just got ugly.
In the upcoming episode of Basketball Wives, what starts as a heated conversation between the two turns physical, and security had to step in.
Chantel, who officially joined the cast full-time this season, has never been one to hold back. Her honesty has led to some serious clashes with her mom, who’s known for being strong-willed herself.
In a new trailer for the episode, their argument quickly escalates when Jackie tries to check her daughter. “You can’t bully anymore… calm down,” Jackie says. Chantel snaps back, “I don’t have to do sh*t.”
Tensions boil over into another scene, where Chantel pushes her mother. Jackie doesn’t take it lightly. “Chantie, I will knock you… B*tch I will knock you out,” she says while being physically held back. At one point, she yells, “Let me go,” trying to break free from security.
This blowup didn’t come out of nowhere.
If you have been following the show, Jackie and Chantel’s relationship has been rocky for years.
Past episodes have shown Chantel calling out her mother’s parenting, especially when it comes to favoritism between her and her sister Takari. There was even a time when Takari accused Jackie of treating her differently because of her skin tone.
Chantel often found herself caught in the middle or voicing frustrations about being controlled and emotionally dismissed.
Jackie, for her part, has always stood firm that everything she’s done came from a place of love. She’s said repeatedly that her tough exterior is how she protects her children. But Chantel’s return this season brought all of that old resentment back to the surface.
Now that they’re both on screen and no longer keeping things behind closed doors, the drama is unfiltered.
This season is exposing how deep their issues really run. What’s clear is that the mother-daughter dynamic between Jackie and Chantel has hit a new low. Whether they’ll recover from this or continue unraveling remains to be seen.
