Months after Jacklyn “Jacky Oh” Smith‘s death, an autopsy report confirmed what many already suspected.
The popular influencer died due to complications from cosmetic surgery, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner wrote in its report. In May, Smith traveled to Miami with her aunt to undergo surgery by Dr. Zachary Okhah. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Smith told her fans that she would be getting a “mommy makeover.” According to the medical examiner’s report, she’d received a Brazilian Butt Lift, with fat being transferred to her butt from her stomach. Smith had been prescribed Ciprofloxacin, an antibiotic, Oxycodone for pain, and Ondansetron to treat post-surgery nausea, TMZ stated.
However, she soon complained of a headache during her post-operative appointment and was told by the surgeon’s office to stop taking Ondansetron. She also received a massage during that appointment. Things took a turn, and on May 31st, Smith described a “burning” sensation in her head and began having a hard time speaking. Her aunt called 911. By the time they arrived, Smith was unconscious and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Additionally, Smith had swelling on her brain and excessive bleeding around her torso area. What may have caused Smith to have complications after the operation is unknown. The manner of death was ruled an accident.
Dr. Okhah did not address Smith’s death but did release a video statement after receiving social media backlash. He maintained that his office was safe for all patients.
Smith and comedian DC Youngfly share three children. He has not yet commented on the findings of the autopsy report.
