Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis

Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis were scheduled to fight on November 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

However, the event was canceled after Paul’s promotion company, MVP, could not secure the necessary permits from the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission.

Rick Thompson, a member of the commission, explained that MVP “withdrew its submission for event permits and rule waivers necessary to hold the boxing match at State Farm Arena.” The company needed three out of five votes from the commission to proceed but did not receive approval.

A key concern was the weight difference between the fighters. Paul reportedly weighs around 200 pounds, while Davis is closer to 135 or 140 pounds. Thompson criticized the matchup, calling it, “the dumbest sh*t I’ve ever heard.”

The fight now has a new home at the Kaseya Center in Miami, with the date remaining November 14.

MVP announced the relocation on X, highlighting the excitement surrounding the event.

“The war is no longer in ATL… Jake Paul vs. Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis are TAKING OVER MIAMI,” the promotion tweeted. “Same date. Same fight. New city… Friday, November 14th we are taking over the 305. The Kaseya Center plays host to the BIGGEST FIGHT OF THE YEAR. No retreat. No surrender. It’s goin down Miami.”

The fight will be broadcast on Netflix, allowing fans across the country to watch. With the new venue confirmed, anticipation is building for one of the biggest boxing events of the year.
