Viral sensations Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench reunited for their eighth Thanksgiving together.
Staying true to tradition, the pair linked up for dinner once again after Hinton was given an accidental invite back in 2016. In case you’re unfamiliar with their history, Dench mistakenly texted Hinton to invite him for Thanksgiving dinner, believing she’d contacted her grandson. After realizing the mistake, Dench still told Hinton he was welcome to join her family. This led to a longstanding friendship, and this year, the duo partnered with Airbnb for their Thanksgiving celebration.
Fans of their story had a chance to book a one-night stay in Dench’s Arizona home for just $16 a night. They opened the booking on November 14th, and up to two guests were able to stay on November 20th and enjoy dinner with the pair. The two celebrated the holiday with the Airbnb guest, Arseni, on Monday, which included board games, storytelling, and movie night. Airbnb donated an unspecified amount to Feeding America in honor of the partnership.
In recent years, the unlikely pals have been cashing in on their mixup. Netflix announced that they would be producing a film based on the friendship titled “The Thanksgiving Text.” However, since it was first revealed in 2021, how much progress they’ve made on the film has yet to be specified. Considering the writers’ and actors’ strikes this year, it likely stalled for a while. Still, it’s great to see the pair carrying on their wholesome tradition, which has warmed the hearts of millions.
