Actor James Caan’s cause of death has been revealed.
Earlier this month, Caan’s family shared that he passed away at 82. During that time, his cause of death remained unknown. TMZ obtained the actor’s death certificate that stated he died from a heart attack and coronary artery disease.
The actor also suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as congestive heart failure.
The certificate says that ‘The Godfather’ actor died at 9:02 pm at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles on July 6th. Since then, Caan has been buried at Eden Memorial Park in California.
The actor’s death was announced on his official Twitter account. The statement reads, “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6.”
It continued, “The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences. And asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
Caan is best known for his role in ‘The Godfather,’ ‘Misery,’ and ‘Elf.’
