Apparently billionaire businessman, James Packer, was still madly in love with superstar singer Mariah Carey prior to their split. So much so that he sent a few emails asking for her hand in marriage, eventually.
“I’m in love with you and can’t wait to get married and be together forever,” Packer wrote to the pop diva, in emails obtained by US Weekly. “There’s a song I’m listening to now that’s got lots of meanings and I hope it makes u smile. When you get caught between the moon and New York City best that you can do is fall in love.”
“All my love, laughter, light, respect and appreciation and admiration … Thank you my fiancée and soulmate,” Packer wrote in a message, with the subject reading, “Will U marry me soon MCP pls -:))))).” MCP standing for Mariah Carey Packer.
Based on the emails, it’s understandable that the pop diva felt blindsided by reports of the split. According to US Weekly, Carey found out through the news that the billionaire had dumped her. Although, several reports claimed the split was due to the diva’s spending habits, sources say, that is not the case. Apparently, Packer wasn’t interested in living his life in the spotlight, the publication reports.
“He’s more private,” a source said. “She always has her whole entourage and he couldn’t take that. … Being in such a public relationship was fun for James at first, but then it got to be too much and he wanted his normal life back.”
If you recall, sources say Carey is suing for the inconvenience of the split. Aside from the emotional devastation, sources say Packer also cost the diva a pretty penny. The relationship inclined the singer the uproot from New York to Los Angeles. His actions in Greece, caused Carey to cancel a portion of her tour. In addition, Carey had already begun planning for the wedding. Both, her and her daughter already had their dresses. So, the singer wants $50 million for the road.
