Jamie Foxx is speaking out about the bizarre internet rumors that followed his sudden medical emergency in 2023, including one tying Diddy to the incident.
In a recent Hollywood Reporter roundtable, Foxx opened up about his time in the hospital, revealing he had a stroke brought on by a brain bleed. He said he wasn’t aware of the wild stories circulating online until he secretly used his phone.
“I snuck in my phone because I didn’t know what the outside world was saying and I couldn’t get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke. I’m in f–king perfect shape,” he said. “I see things like, ‘Puffy tried to kill me.’ No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me.”
But it was the clone theory that really had Foxx shaking his head. “When they said I was a clone, that made me flip,” he said, laughing. “I’m sitting in the hospital bed like, ‘These bitch-ass motherf–kers are trying to clone me.’”
Foxx didn’t hold back in his Netflix stand-up special What Had Happened Was, which premiered in December 2024, just a few months after Diddy was arrested on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
Foxx joked about the Diddy rumors during the show, telling the audience, “The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me… Diddy? Hell no, I left them parties early.”
Those same parties have since been linked to disturbing allegations and viral stories about so-called “Freak-Offs.”
Foxx initially told fans that his health scare was caused by a bad headache, but later clarified that it was actually a serious medical condition.
Now back in the spotlight, he’s using comedy to reflect on the chaos and remind everyone not to believe everything they read online.
