Jamie Spears is still taking his daughter Britney Spears through the wringer, following the singer’s claims of conservatorship abuse.
Last week, his attorney filed court docs demanding that the “Circus” star sits for a deposition. The move is meant to challenge her claims that her father purposely kept her under a strict conservatorship in order to control her and carelessly spend her money. Jamie is also insisting that Britney cover his legal fees, which have skyrocketed to the millions.
Jamie’s lawyer, Alex Weingarten, says the claims against his client are “unsupported.”
“Britney’s counsel claims Britney is exempt from discovery obligations regarding her allegations of wrongdoing, but Jamie has a right to prepare his case and depose Britney, as she is the individual making unsupported claims against him,” she wrote in the court paperwork.
Jamie wants to address several particular allegations in court, including the claim that she was forced to submit unnecessary blood samples for medical treatments and attend therapy. Britney has also claimed she was denied pain-relievers.
Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, says the deposition is nothing more than a bullying and harassment tactic. Last week, her family was not present during her wedding to Iranian-American model and actor Sam Asghari, as it was revealed Britney had not invited her sister, mother, and father.
