Janet Jackson opened up about motherhood in a new interview with Australia’s Stellar magazine. “I do it all myself,” she said.
The 53-year-old songstress revealed in the interview that she is a full-time mom with her two-year-old son, Eissa. “It is hard being a working mother. I don’t have a nanny. I do it all myself,” Jackson revealed. “If my mother did it with nine children, there’s no reason I can’t.”
Jackson added that she does have a nanny who cares for her baby while she’s on the road, but when she’s not, she says it’s “my baby and me.” “It’s not easy at times, but my life has changed,” she said. “Obviously, my baby comes first.” Jackson gave birth to Eissa in January 2017 with her estranged husband #WissamAlMana. The two announced they would be parting ways that following April, Good Morning America reports.
Ms. Jackson is currently booked and busy with her Las Vegas residency at the MGM. Jackson says her son is following in her footsteps of being a lover of music. “I bought him a real violin, and he got so excited,” Jackson said. “He sleeps with it. He eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner with it.”
