Jay-Z is making some big moves that could change the face of New York City forever! The hip-hop legend and his Roc Nation team have announced plans to commit over $250 million in grants to the Hell’s Kitchen community if they secure the bid to open a Caesars Palace Times Square casino, according to Page Six.
In a bold proposal, the Roc Nation-led group has promised to provide an initial $15 million to the local community, with ongoing support tied to the casino’s performance. Specifically, they plan to allocate regular grants equal to 0.5% of the casino’s earnings, ensuring a steady stream of resources for the neighborhood.
The Caesars Palace Times Square team isn’t just talking the talk; they’ve already met with residents of the iconic Manhattan Plaza, a well-known affordable housing complex for artists, to discuss the potential benefits of this massive project.
“We are New Yorkers. Supporting and providing opportunities for our neighborhoods and community isn’t just a part of Roc Nation’s ethos… it’s our collective responsibility,” Jay-Z said in a statement revealing the grant initiative. He made it clear that this venture is about more than just business — it’s about uplifting the community.
The “Empire State of Mind” rapper went on to say, “Any proposal that wins a gaming license will undoubtedly profit. Our vision is to give back to New York and ensure that the Broadway community, Hell’s Kitchen, and the surrounding businesses and areas all benefit. And not just for a minute, but for the long-term.”
With New York City recently granting a gaming license, Roc Nation is ready to dive deeper into the casino world.
It’s a high-stakes competition, and everyone’s putting their chips on the table. But one thing is clear: if Jay-Z and Roc Nation win the bid, Hell’s Kitchen could be looking at a bright future filled with new opportunities and community support. Stay tuned!
