Jay-Z isn’t letting the paternity rumors disrupt his life.
The hip hop icon is asking a federal judge to shut down a lawsuit filed by Rymir Satterthwaite, who claims he’s the rapper’s biological son. In legal papers recently filed, Jay-Z’s team says the accusations are “fabricated” and part of a drawn-out attempt to harass him.
Rymir filed the federal suit in May, stating that Jay-Z had never agreed to a DNA test and had attempted to keep the situation out of the spotlight. His lawsuit claims the rapper used his influence to avoid taking responsibility and silence him through legal maneuvers. Jay-Z’s lawyers say that’s far from the truth. They argue this case is no different from the others that have already been dismissed in multiple courts.
According to the filings, the matter has been ruled on before, and pushing it again ignores those decisions. Rymir’s side of the story goes back decades. He believes his late mother, Wanda, was romantically involved with Jay-Z in the early ’90s. After she passed, Rymir was raised by his godmother, who supported him in pursuing legal action over the years.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Rymir said, “Why can’t he prove me wrong? Go to the courtroom and do what everyone else has to do. I can take a no. I can take being embarrassed. I just can’t take him not saying anything. It is not fair.”
He insists the lawsuit isn’t about money or publicity. He says he wants a clear answer and closure through a DNA test. Jay-Z hasn’t commented publicly, but his legal response makes it clear he wants this matter closed for good.
