Jay Z is clearing his name and letting other rappers know he’s in a league of his own.
In his latest Twitter Spaces chat, he sets the record straight on whether anyone can step in the ring with him at a Verzuz battle. Hov claims, “not a chance anyone can stand on the stage” with him.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper had a lot to say on Twitter Spaces while talking to Genius’ Rob Markman and Alicia Keys about the R&B superstar’s latest album, Keys.
When the Verzuz topic was brought up, Jay says, “No one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me…” The Brooklyn rapper has a full resume when it comes to songs and albums. He reminisces on his old joints that new rappers wouldn’t even come close to.
“You got to stand in front of the ‘Grammy Family Freestyle’ live? No one has ever even seen me perform that, you got to stand in front of that? That ain’t never going to happen,” the music mogul said. Jay Z dropped his debut album in 1996, Reasonable Doubt, and has been topping charts ever since.
Maybe his recent truths come from rapper Future saying he was ‘bigger’ than Jigga in the streets on Twitter a couple of days ago. Either way, it’s safe to say if someone battled the multi-Grammy winner, it wouldn’t be anyone from this day and age. Possibly Nas or Ye?
