Jay-Z’s social justice organization is demanding the prosecution and termination of Wisconsin police officer Joesph Mensah.
Jay-Z’s Team Roc sent a message to District Attorney John Chisholm in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“How many more people must die at the hands of Officer Joseph Mensah?” Team Roc said in the full-page ad.
Mensah killed three men of color within the past five years. In 2015, Mensah fired eight shots with the intent to kill Antonio Gonzales and let off six shots, killing Jay Anderson in 2016. The journal reported that Mensah killed another man of color, Alvin Cole, by shooting him five times this past February.
In all cases, it was apparent that Mensah knew all victims were unarmed, as evidence revealed that all men yelled, “no gun.” The officer did not attempt to perform CPR on any of the victims.
“His actions demonstrate an utter disregard for the lives of these young men,” the ad stated.
Team Roc exposed the police department for not enforcing the use of body cameras during two of the fatal shootings. The team requested that Chisholm mandate body cameras for police officers.
The message concluded with Jay-Z’s organization demanding that Mensah is brought to justice “to ensure he never kills anyone again.”
