Jay-Z is helping unemployed New Yorkers find work by hosting a job fair later this month in conjunction with Roc Nation and Reform Alliance.
Page Six reports that the Team Roc New York Job fair will be held at Madison Square Garden on November 18. The event will welcome people of all walks of life, including the formerly incarcerated, single veterans, single parents, and members of poverty alleviation and workforce development programs.
“The Team Roc New York Job Fair is a real opportunity for socio-economic mobility for New Yorkers – those who want to work, yet have not had the exposure or connections to the right-fit jobs, or to the support services that can strengthen their prospects for employment,” said Team Roc managing director Dania Diaz in a statement.
Their goal is to help 1,000 New Yorkers. The will be entry-level jobs available to job seekers, as well as career readiness resources. Some of the companies participating include Lowe’s, Madison Square Garden, VICE, Live Nation, and more. Roc Nation and Reform alliance will also be offering opportunities.
The event will also feature motivational speakers, but it is not clear if Jay-Z will appear. The job fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
