Jeannie Mai is now a mom! The Real co-host announced Tuesday that she had welcomed her first child with her husband, Jeezy.
The new mother posted a photo of a baby blanket to her Instagram, with the caption, “Baby Jenkins is here,” along with a baby bottle and red heart emoji.
“I asked God for a life of love and happiness. He sent me my family,” she wrote.
She did not provide any other details about her baby. It appears that we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out if she had a boy or a girl and the baby’s name.
Mai, 42, and Jeezy, 44, married in March of 2021. The host revealed that they had been trying to start a family before they tied the knot. After losing a pregnancy, Mai began in vitro fertilization. The couple ended up conceiving naturally. She announced the pregnancy on an episode of The Real.
“I can definitely say that our Real fam is growing, and it’s been really hard to keep all of these secrets from you guys because we’ve had so much to reveal here at the show, including the fact that I am pregnant,” she said.
She also explained that she had never wanted to be a mom before her relationship with Jeezy. Their love changed her point of view.
“…I always said I’d never be a mom,” she explained. “There’s so many reasons now that are coming to fruition as to why I would have said that then, but I do know that you never say never, and that love can really change you, and I’m so thankful to be on a show that’s really helped me to grow and to evolve and to see myself differently that I would have ever imagined seeing myself.”
While this is his first child with Mai, Jeezy also has three children from previous relationships.
