Jeezy is pushing back against his ex Jeannie Mai’s recent legal claims, responding to her accusations that he failed to comply with their divorce settlement. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the rapper denies that he has not followed the terms they agreed upon.
Earlier this month, Jeannie, 45, filed a petition accusing Jeezy of not paying daycare and school expenses for their 2-year-old daughter, Monaco. She also claimed he hadn’t deposited $500,000 into an account for their daughter or paid $92,000 in rent for four months. Additionally, Jeannie alleged that Jeezy had not transferred the titles for two vehicles, a 2021 Range Rover and a 2022 Ford Bronco, into her name as agreed.
Jeezy, 46, responded by calling her claims misleading and stated that it was “disheartening” that she revealed details of their sealed divorce settlement in her court filing. He also questioned the validity of the rental agreements Jeannie submitted, pointing out that one of the lessor’s phone numbers was “not in service.” He claimed that after his legal team confirmed one of the leases, Jeannie decided she no longer wanted that property and sought a different home.
Jeezy’s legal team went on to claim that Jeannie was trying to get reimbursed for rent she hadn’t actually paid, as she hadn’t incurred any housing costs since leaving their previous home. His lawyers stated that her actions were “wanton, reckless, misleading, and criminal.”
Regarding the $500,000 account for their daughter, Jeezy said that he had opened the account as required by their agreement. He added that he was open to covering childcare expenses but hadn’t received proper receipts from Jeannie. On the issue of the vehicles, Jeezy explained that while the DMV was taking longer than expected with the paperwork for the Range Rover, the Bronco was ready for pickup, but Jeannie had yet to retrieve it.
Jeezy’s legal team emphasized that they had responded to all of Jeannie’s communications and that her claims were inaccurate. He also pointed out that he had already paid Jeannie a lump sum representing 55 percent of the equity from the sale of their Georgia marital home.
This legal back-and-forth adds to the tension surrounding their ongoing divorce. Jeezy filed for divorce in September, requesting joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. Since then, the separation has become increasingly contentious, with Jeannie seeking to delay the enforcement of their prenuptial agreement and accusing Jeezy of reckless behavior during their marriage, including claims about safety in the home.
Jeezy has denied all of Jeannie’s allegations, calling them false and misleading. A judge has yet to make a final ruling on Jeannie’s petition for contempt.
