Jeezy is seeking privacy in his divorce from Jeannie Mai, citing that their separation has become “contentious.”
In a motion obtained by RadarOnline.com, the rapper is urging the judge to seal “sensitive personal and financial information,” with a specific focus on details about their child, due to the increasingly contentious nature of their divorce.
Last week, Jeezy filed the documents in Fulton County Court in Georgia ahead of his scheduled court appearance with his ex, stating that both of them, being “public figures,” have faced media scrutiny following their breakup.
Earlier reports indicated that in September, Jeezy filed for divorce from Mai, citing their relationship as “irretrievably broken” after more than two years of marriage.
In court documents, Jeezy expressed a strong desire to protect their two-year-old daughter, Monaco, at all costs.
“The parties are both public figures. Since the filing of this action, they and, most importantly, their child, have become the subject of intense media scrutiny and publications in connection with their divorce action that are directly contrary to the best interests of the child,” his filing read.
“In addition, this litigation is tragically becoming increasingly contentious, and, as a result, it is inevitable that sensitive personal and financial information and information related to the child will necessarily be discussed and disclosed as the parties explore the issues incident to their divorce,” the motion stated.
Jeezy, who married the former The Real talk show host on March 27, 2021, accused Mai of being a “gatekeeper” in their custody dispute over their daughter, leading him to seek the judge’s intervention.
