Jeezy and Jay-Z may be refined businessmen and husbands today, but the longtime friends were down to ruffle some feathers in the streets together once upon a time.
During Jeezy’s recent sit-down with TV One’s “Uncensored,” the “Thug Motivation 101” rapper opened up about how he and Jay-Z grew to be so close after bonding over their past dealings in the streets. In the early days of his career, the 44-year-old says the Roc-a-Fella boss supported him even when he dealt with his legal troubles. In fact, Hov had his back during a physical altercation that took place in Las Vegas.
“Some things popped off in Vegas… I gotta say, Hov got hands! ‘Cause, we was getting down,” he revealed. When one of Hov’s staffers tried to get Jay to leave the scene, he replied, “I ain’t leaving Jeezy.”
The two have always had a long-standing business and personal relationship. Jay-Z jumped on the remix to Jeezy’s “Go Crazy” from his Def Jam debut album in 2005. They have also collaborated on several other records, including “Real As It Gets” and “Seen It All.”
