Jeezy has broken his silence about his surprising divorce from Jeannie Mai.
In a statement shared by journalist Elliot Wilson, Jeezy assured fans that his decision to end his marriage “was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart.”
“Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains, and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart. Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship, and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves,” the “Trap or Die” rapper wrote.

Jeezy filed the divorce petition on September 14th, 2023, in Georgia, just days after Mai shared a touching video on Instagram with their daughter Monaco praising her husband’s memoir, “Adversity For Sale.” She was allegedly devastated over the split and was trying to get her husband back. However, multiple outlets reported that cultural differences divided the couple, leading to “irreconcilable differences,” as cited in the divorce docs. During a recent appearance on “The Sherri Shepherd Show,” Mai said her daughter was helping her get through this rough patch in her life.
Up until this week, Mai still had “Jenkins,” Jeezy’s last name, in her Instagram profile, while Jeezy was still spotted wearing his wedding band, a signal that the two may have reconciled. Sadly, it seems the couple are still pushing forward with the divorce. Concluding his statement, Jeezy has asked for privacy as they navigate their “healing.”
