Jeffree Star Gets Called Out After Website With “Offensive” And “Derogatory” Images Resurfaces

Makeup owner and influencer Jeffree Star Is responding after his “offensive,” and derogatory” website resurfaced. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Star, 34, is the founder of Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and he’s currently facing some backlash for an “offensive” website that he used to manage. On Thursday, the YouTuber released a statement on Twitter about a website that he created and managed around 2004 to 2006, which included dark imagery of him cutting himself and the spewing of hateful terms like “Lipstick Nazi” among other things.

According to E! Online, Star’s statement acknowledged that the website, which has since been deleted, had “a VERY graphic photo of me cutting and bleeding,” with the caption “coming soon.” He says he meant to use the photos for his LiveJournal profile, but he says, “I ended up never using it and that same week, dissolved the URL and tried to erase the horrible images of me self-harming from the Internet.”

Star went on to explain that he “stupidly” used terms like “Lipstick Nazi” to refer to “people who were obsessed with makeup.” “It was offensive, derogatory, and for shock value. It does not reflect who I am today or what I stand for or have EVER stood for,” he explained. He called the word “Nazi” “disgusting” and said there is “no excuse”  for saying it but broke down that he was re-using it from the show “Seinfeld,” which would often use the term “Soup Nazi.”

“I will always be deeply sorry to anyone who had to see that and will continue to be sorry for all the dumb vile s–t I’ve said in my past,” said Starr. He also highlighted the photo of him next to a man with a Confederate flag tossed over his shoulders. He said that the photo is real and that he was asked to be in the photo for  “for shock value.” He added, “I was mocking the flag but now see how ugly and wrong it is to be next to it. Should I have told them no? Absolutely. But I made the stupid decision to stand there, and I’m sorry for my actions.”

Star has a history of discriminatory and racist acts towards ethnic groups, specifically Black women. A former friend of Star #KameronLester recently called Star out for treating him like the “token Black kid” and said he felt that Star and his friend #ShaneDawson tried Jeffree Star
