The fate of Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has been postponed another month after his attorney petitioned to have the conviction thrown out.
Although a judge has yet to rule on David Schwartz’s motion to toss the initial guilty verdict, Maraj faces up to life in prison for raping his then-11-year-old stepdaughter over a span of several months.

During the trial though, Schwartz argued that the young girl’s claims were made up by her mother in an attempt to extort his superstar sister for $25 million. However, despite the defense’s argument, a jury found Maraj guilty of predatory sexual assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child, Page Six reports.

But now, as Maraj awaits sentencing, his defense is pulling out all stops to get him off. As of now, a ruling has yet to be made on Maraj’s guilty verdict.
