Though the relationship between Young Thug and Jerrika Karlae is no longer on a romantic level, the budding rapper is still supporting Thugger during this tumultuous time.
Karlae spoke with @theprogressreportpodcast about how Thug is holding up as he fights his RICO case. The 26-year-old says despite the way things are looking, the “Best Friend” rapper is keeping his head held high.
“He’s doing good actually, and he’s in great spirits,” Karlae revealed before adding, “Honestly, he was giving me advice. He was like, ‘keep your head in the game. Wake up every day and put a smile on your face and be thankful.’”
The “Jimmy Choo” artist and influencer also spoke on Thugger’s reaction to losing Lil Keed, his friend and YSL signee. Karlae says Thug was “very tore up” to hear about the May 13th passing of Keed, who succumbed to organ failure.
Thug’s legal woes continue to mount from week to week. Days ago, he was denied bail with the judge expressing concerns about witness tampering. His trial is set to begin on January 9th, 2023. Rapper Gunna, who is also signed to Thug, faces similar charges as part of the RICO indictment. His trial is also scheduled for January 9th.
