Amid the country’s increased racial tensions and the subsequent controversy over the nation’s National Anthem, Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, is standing firm in his position about his players’ protests.
On Wednesday, Jones announced that his team will not support any players who choose to exercise their right to free speech and protest.
“Our policy is you stand during the anthem, toe on line,” Jones said in a press conference, completely disregarding the recent pause on the league’s protest policy.

“That was put on hold,” Jones added of the recently frozen policy, which initially gave players the option to stay in the locker room during the anthem, but also gave teams the opportunity to discipline players who took a knee or sat. “It did not impact our position, my position, relative to the Cowboys. Our position is real clear: You should stand.”
