Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys owner, is being sued by a young woman for paying her mother hush money to conceal the fact that he was her father.

The explosive lawsuit was filed last Thursday by Alexandra Davis, a 25-year-old aide to U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas. Alexandra says she was forced to live her life fatherless due to a confidentiality agreement that her mother signed when she was just one year old.

Jones allegedly met Alexandra’s mother, Cynthia Davis Spencer, in 1995 during her time as an American Airlines ticket counter clerk in Little Rock, Arkansas. Cynthia, who was estranged from her husband, began an intimate relationship with Jones and became pregnant. She gave birth in December 1996. Though Jones denied that he fathered Alexandra, he agreed to pay her mother $375,000 “in exchange for confidentiality.” He then contracted an Arkansas attorney, Donald Jack, to establish a trust for Alexandra and Cynthia. He also, directly and indirectly, provided significant financial support for the mother and daughter throughout the years. Under this agreement, his paternity would remain confidential, and neither woman was permitted to disclose that he was the father.

Thanks to Jones, the women were able to maintain a life of luxury, showing off their lavish lifestyle in a reality television show called “Big Rich Texas.” The series was centered around wealthy women and daughters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. During the show, Cynthia claimed she was living off of a trust.

According to her lawsuit, Alexandra has been forced to grow up fatherless, as she watched Jones be public with his other three children from his wife, Gene. She says she feared that if she disclosed to anyone who her father was, she and her mother would lose the money provided by Jones or “worse.”

Alexandra requests that a court legally acknowledge her as Jones’ daughter and release her from a secrecy agreement that her mother entered into when she was a baby. It remains unclear what motivated the young woman to come forward. For now, the lawsuit docs will remain sealed until a hearing on March 31st.
