Singer Jessie J announced in an Instagram post that she tested positive for COVID-19 following her December 14 concert in Los Angeles.
She posted a carousel of photos from the event, with the caption “I got covid at this show BUT The audience could clap in time.” She added, “Balance.”
The “Bang Bang” singer is the latest celebrity to come up positive with the virus amid a surge in cases. The rise is attributed to the highly transmissible omicron variant, which is sweeping the country.
The news of Jessie J’s COVID-19 diagnosis comes just over a month after the British singer revealed she suffered from a miscarriage. She posted the news to her Instagram just hours after losing her pregnancy.
“To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again. I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming,” she wrote at the time.
“But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok,” Jessie continued. “I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t. It’s the loneliest feeling in the world.”
The same night she shared the emotional news, she performed in LA. She tearfully talked about her experience with the audience.
“I wanted to be here tonight because the one thing I believe in the most in this whole entire universe, beyond surface conversations and Instagram and the internet, is being human and being vulnerable and being real,” Jessie told the crowd.
