Jill Scott Files A Restraining Order Against Estranged Husband

After a little more than a year of marriage, Jill Scott filed for divorce from her husband, Mike Dobson. In the filing, the singer cites, “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper,” just 10 days after separating from her husband on Sept. 5.

In addition to the filing, as reported by Bossip, Scott also got a restraining order against Dobson. In the order, which was filed on the same day as the divorce papers, Scott says she wants to keep the peace, especially in front of their children. She says neither party can “threaten, harass or stalk the other, nor can one trash talk the other in front of their kids.”

She also says neither party can destroy any evidence or hide any assets from the marriage, nor can they spend excessive amounts of money without court permission.

The estranged couple wed in June 2016.
