A Twitter user decided to throw in her two cents concerning what’s considered classy and dateable amongst plus-size women. She tried to drive home her point by comparing singers Jill Scott to Lizzo, though Scott quickly shut that down.
A user by the name of @CharriseJLane shared a post that featured both superstars. She sought to get men’s opinions on which woman they’d date based on their “level of class.”
“Your size isn’t the reason Men won’t date you. It’s the level of class you have. For instance, let’s compare Jill Scott to Lizzo. Men, which one would you date?” she wrote. In a follow-up tweet, @CharriseJLane explained that while it’s okay to show some skin as a performer on stage, having your cheeks out in broad daylight, as Lizzo often does, is “another level of coocoo.”

Naturally, people chimed in to call her out for comparing the two women and seemingly judging Lizzo’s body type. The tweets found their way to Scott, who shared a GIF of the words “Stop that,” encouraging the self-proclaimed black conservative to let the topic go.

This take is not the first of its kind. Lizzo has frequently come under fire for her provocative clothing choices. One of her latest photos, which is the one used in this viral tweet, shows Lizzo with her buns out in a black ensemble boarding a private jet. As per usual, the internet was torn, with many praising her while others dragged the “Truth Hurts” star. The beauty of it is that Lizzo could care less either way. Jill Scott’s response to the Lizzo criticism, however, was a beautiful display of sisterhood.
