Jim Carrey reveals that his decades-long acting career is soon coming to an end.
Carrey recently sat down with ‘Access Hollywood’ where he discussed his upcoming film ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2.’ During the conversation, Carrey shared that he is “retiring” from the acting game pretty soon.
Seeing as though Carrey is a well-known comedian, host Kit Hoover couldn’t help but ask if he was serious. Carrey then responded, “I’m being fairly serious.”
However, Carrey did say he may reconsider his decision depending on the film script. “It depends,” he said. “If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink, that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see. I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break.”
The ‘Liar Liar’ actor went on to explain how he’s enjoying having free time to spend with family and the leisure to work on his art.
“I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life. And I feel like, and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists. I have enough,” Carrey added. “I’ve done enough. I am enough.”
Carrey who just celebrated in 60th birthday has been acting for a few decades now. He gained stardom after his breakout role on the 90’s hit series ‘In Living Color.’ Carrey transitioned into films after receiving roles in ‘Dumb & Dumber’, ‘Bruce Almighty’, ‘The Mask’ and more.
