Jim Jones just wanted to participate in a Verzuz battle at the end of the day. In a recent episode of the Angie Martinez Show, the rapper talked about the Verzuz, saving his friend and photographer’s life at a Crypto event in Miami, and turning over a new page in his healthy life.
Even though there was beef speculation in the Verzuz battle with Jadakiss vs. Jim Jones, Jones admits it was all fun and games. He does want a rematch since Jada took the win.
However, it was revealed Jones and Cam’ron haven’t spoken since their Verzuz.
Apparently, the hip-hop mogul offered his earnings to Cam’ron because he wanted to do battle that bad. The energy was off onstage, and he suggested he was “over the night” because “there was too much going on.”
He says, “When Cam gets an interview, he’s going to say, ‘This is something that Jim wanted, he offered to give me his money to do this event.” Jones laughs and admits that he did offer him his earnings.
“Yes, n***a, I did.”
Martinez then asks if he thinks Cam regrets doing the battle, and Jones responded, “I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to him since the Verzuz.”
He also talked about a life-changing moment when he saved his dear friend Fleece’s, life during a Crypto event in Miami. Though he didn’t have to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, he claims “God grabbed my hands and put it on him” when performing CPR.
Jones then talked about his health journey with other artists Fabolous, Dave East, and Maino. “It is a fitness initiative we started called ‘Fit Lit.'” He described the 8-week program as a chance to get everyone back in shape and staying in shape.
When asked about the laziest out of the group, he jokingly admitted that Fab indeed was.
As far as projects, Jones collaborated with DJ Drama with a new mixtape, Gangsta Grillz. He also says he is dropping an all Latin album. Though Martinez asked if he spoke Spanish, he responded, “un poquito.”
