Joe Budden Claims To Have Details About Tory Lanez Being Set Up In The Megan Thee Stallion Shooting; “I Know How That Gun Got There”

Joe Budden has an interesting theory concerning Tory Lanez following his driver’s newly released statement about the Megan Thee Stallion shooting. 

During a recent episode of his podcast, Budden said he does not think Lanez shot Megan.  The “Pump It Up” star declared that anyone who believed the story of Lanez shooting at Megan while yelling “dance b***h,” is an “idiot.” Guest host Marc Lamont Hill was also featured on the episode and posed the question, “Why would she make it up?” Budden went on to explain that Megan was not the mastermind behind pinning the shooting on Lanez. 

“I think it’s above her.  I don’t think she made it up.  It’s above her.  She’s a mere pawn in this…This play is greater than her.  She didn’t make nothing up.  I ain’t gon’ say who I think made it up, but it wasn’t her,” he explained.

Later, Budden took an even bolder stance by adding that he had inside information about who set Lanez up to catch the case, which netted him a lengthy prison stint.

“I know exactly who it is.  I know how that gun got there.  I know who gun it was,” Budden claimed. 

It’s unclear why someone would plant a gun in the car, but days ago, new information was released from Lanez’s driver, Jauquan Smith.  In a statement in newly filed court documents, Smith said he never saw who pulled the trigger on that fateful July 2020 night.  Instead, he claimed he witnessed Megan and former friend Kelsey Harris fighting.  During the scuffle, Harris picked up a firearm, which prompted Lanez to try and wrestle it away from Harris.  Smith could not be sure who fired the weapon.  He also accused the District Attorney of refusing to include his statement in the trial.  In his response, Deputy Attorney General Michael C. Keller explained his office didn’t believe Smith would help the case.  Lanez is currently serving a ten-year sentence for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.  He has continued to maintain his innocence.
