Joe Budden is calling out singer Tyla following her interesting interaction with Halle Bailey and Lil Nas X during the MTV Video Music Awards.
During Saturday’s Patreon episode, Budden and his co-hosts discussed Tyla asking Bailey and Lil Nas to hold her award because it was too heavy. The request caused serious debate online, with many accusing Tyla of elitism or believing she was somehow better than her fellow musicians who presented her with the award. Budden agreed with the banter.
“She comes off like a d**k,” Budden stated, later adding, “I didn’t even like how she f**kin’ put her hand on the person that was walking her to the stage.”
He went on to reference a tweet made by Armon Wiggins, which went viral online. He was one of the first big names to call out Tyla’s VMAs actions. Wiggins called Tyla an “entitled or uppity African” Tyla responded by briefly placing the title in her Twitter bio but ultimately deleted it.
Hey I don’t think I like TYLA’s personality I think someone needs to check her cus she doesn’t understand American Culture AT ALL..she almost gives off entitled or uppity African idk how to explain it but it’s very off putting and it’s almost like she expects people to just fall…

Both Tyla and Bailey have spoken out, maintaining that her attempt to hand off her award was not being done in a shady manner. Still, the controversy has continued.
