Joe Budden has spoken out about the recent rumors regarding an altercation he allegedly had with some supporters of Taxstone.
On Saturday, Budden joined New York-based blogger QueenzFlip’s Instagram Live and stated that the individual who attacked him managed to strike him only once, which contradicts the reports by YouTuber Jamil Lindsey, suggesting a more severe outcome.
“No, never believe the internet rumors,” Budden said. “N*gga cocked back and socked me one good time. But that’s all you gone get. Now we gotta go.”
Neither Budden nor Taxstone has officially confirmed that the altercation stemmed from Taxstone supporters. Nevertheless, Lindsey has claimed that the fight was provoked by Budden’s consistent critical remarks about Taxstone.
Additionally, one of Budden’s associates, Tony “The Closer” Robinson, hopped on Twitter to address the rumors.
“I just heard from Joe Budden he good y’all be hype as shit to say he got jumped,” Robinson wrote. “Like what world we celebrate n*ggas jumping n*ggas. He ain’t have a scratch on his face don’t know who he got into it with but he definitely didn’t look like he got jumped.”
Once news broke about the altercation, rumors circulated that the incident was a result to Budden’s commentary on DJ Envy and Cesar Pina’s alleged “Ponzi scheme” real estate business. However, Robinson disclosed that Budden had confirmed that the incident had no connection to Cesar and his associates.
