Joe Jonas has reportedly filed to dismiss his divorce case with his estranged wife, Sophie Turner, after the two reportedly had a successful four days of mediation.
On 11 October, the singer filed to dismiss his petition for dissolution in Miami after he and Turner came to a temporary agreement involving the custody of their two daughters, according to court documents obtained by PageSix. Both parties have reportedly reached “various agreements” and aim to “pursue an amicable resolution of all issues,” the outlet reported.
Earlier in the week, the former couple agreed to joint custody. The pair will alternate custody, with each parent having the children for about two weeks at a time. The children will also reportedly split their time between the US and the UK, the Independent UK reported.
“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents,” the former couple said in a statement to PEOPLE.
After four years of marriage, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in Miami last month. Turner then filed a complaint requesting that her daughters be returned to her. In the complaint, she demanded “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained,” and alleged that Jonas’ “wrongful retention” started on 20 September.
She also alleged that before Jonas filed for divorce, they had been planning on moving their family to the UK permanently and purchasing a home.
Jonas’ representatives responded to his estranged wife’s claims by saying he did not “abduct” their children, and clarified that Jonas was “okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK”.
