Joe Rogan Reveals COVID-19 Diagnosis, Says He is Treating it with Horse Dewormer

Joe Rogan revealed Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. During the reveal, he also admitted to using a horse dewormer to treat it.

The popular podcast host posted a video to his Instagram explaining that he felt off on Saturday after getting back from being on the road. He got tested the following day, and sure enough, it was positive.

Rogan went on to detail the medicine he was taking to combat the virus, which included ivermectin. Ivermectin is used to treat horses for parasites. In smaller doses, it is used in people to treat intestinal roundworms and river blindness. The medicine has not been proven to be an effective treatment for COVID-19.

“We immediately threw the kitchen sink at it,” he said. “All kinds of meds: monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pack, prednisolone, everything. And I also got a NAD drip and a vitamin drip. And I did that three days in a row, so here we are on Wednesday, and I feel great. I really only had one bad day.”

Ivermectin has become so popular that the Food and Drug Administration recently sent a tweet asking people to stop taking it.

“You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it,” the tweet read.

Just like when former president Donald Trump mentioned bleach as a means to treat coronavirus, poison control centers have seen a sharp increase in calls related to ivermectin poisoning. In large doses, it can be dangerous.

Rogan has been critical of coronavirus vaccines. In April, he faced backlash after advising his listeners that young people didn’t need to get the shot. After being criticized for the comments, he later admitted he is “not a respected source of information.”

Around that same time, Rogan revealed he had an appointment scheduled to receive the Johnson & Johnson shot. In Wednesday’s Instagram video, he made no mention of vaccines.
