Joe Rogan is circling back around when it comes to his ongoing saga with Spotify and fans. This time he is attempting to defend himself by playing the victim and says the video of his racially insensitive comments has existed for a while. In Tuesday’s podcast, he says, “That video had always been out there. It’s like, this is a political hit job.”

After Spotify removed over 70 episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience at the request of Rogan and his team, Rogan has been on an apology tour ever since to make things right. However, in his recent podcast episode, he is fed up with the backlash.

He continues, “And so they’re taking all this stuff I’ve ever said that’s wrong and smushing it all together.”

Though in his recent Instagram post, he apologizes for using the N-word and describes his use as “regretful and shameful,” he says all of the drama amid the racial and COVID-19 havoc is a huge “relief.” He also talks about how he is dealing with it, like staying off the internet.

“You just have to stay offline…Life goes on as normal.” In Tuesday’s episode, he was joined by stand-up comedian Akaash Singh, who defended the commentator’s personality.

Singh says, “Real life is people who know you, and you’re a great guy. We’ve all said some wild s***, and you apologized and owned that it’s wrong, good for you.”

Spotify CEO, Daniel Ek, has also remained behind Rogan and addressed the controversial issue in a staff letter claiming he doesn’t believe in “silencing” Rogan. Ek made it clear that Spotify will also invest $100 million for the licensing, development, and marketing of music and audio content for “historically marginalized groups,” amid artist India Marie pulling her music from the streaming platform.
