Jonathan Majors believes the heavy media coverage of his assault case hindered his chances of securing an Oscar nomination for his latest film, “Magazine Dreams.”

During a recent chat with “Generation Iron Fitness & Bodybuilding Network” to promote the film, Majors spoke about his fans praising his performance. While he appreciates the support, he shut down viewers calling for him to win an Oscar.
“I don’t really think about it… I just got other things to think about, you know? And I’ve got people on my team that can think about those things if they present themselves,” he explained.
Majors added, “The way I was dragged, the things I’ve had to deal with and heal from and all that, that’s completely, it’s a wrap,” he explained. “I’m a part of the Academy and I can tell you right now, it’s not gonna happen. They’re not gonna do it.”
Majors was found guilty on December 18th, 2023, of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment in a Manhattan court, stemming from the controversial incident involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March 2023. He was sentenced to probation in the case.
In recent weeks, an audio recording has surfaced of Majors seemingly admitting to strangling his ex during a heated confrontation. When asked by multiple outlets about the newly unveiled admission, Majors has stated that he is still doing his “work,” though he has not explained what happened during that situation.
