Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been hit with another lawsuit, the second since 2015, concerning paternity establishment.
An Ohio woman filed paperwork to establish paternity of her one-year-old daughter, Emma, back in 2015. Sixteen months later, the woman received the test results which revealed Gordon was the child’s father with “99.9 percent certainty.”
Now, another Ohio woman is trying to establish paternity of her two-year-old. According to Cleveland.com, the woman, Kristen Leonard, filed the paperwork in March, asking for child support if the paternity test comes back positive.
“We hope to resolve this matter quickly and amicably so my client’s child can have the benefit of being supported by both parents,” Leonard’s lawyer told the publication.
In the meantime, Gordon is waiting to be reinstated, after being suspended for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. He hopes league commissioner Roger Goodell will review his application within the next few months.
