JT has spoken out about her viral spat with former City Girls groupmate Yung Miami.
The newly solo rapper sat down with Keke Palmer to discuss the April 2024 clash that played out on Twitter. JT shared that she knew their issues would eventually “end up somewhere” but admitted she was “more so hurt” by the way they handled things.
“When you get to the point of ego…it gets there. You forget to express yourself in a private setting, or you forget to talk like adults,” the “Okay” star explained to Palmer just after the 24-minute mark.
The pair went back and forth after months of breakup speculation following the botched rollout of their album, “RAW.” Many fans pointed out that the pair appeared distant during their press runs, particularly their now infamous Breakfast Club interview in October 2023, where JT and Miami clearly had their own career endeavors in place.
“She should be able to tell her side or how she feel…because we both were dead a** wrong. It wasn’t no right person in that situation, and I feel like that’s just something that we should talk about as adults,” JT continued.
JT touched on the nature of their current relationship, explaining that they continue to talk and even laugh about the brief Twitter beef. Miami has not directly addressed the moment but recently spoke to Complex.
“But when we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting, it just wasn’t working no more. I think we were both at a point where it was just like, we should probably just do our own s**t,” Miami explained during that early June interview.
While JT and Miami continue to work separately, it’s a welcome relief to know that their friendship remains intact.
