Last July, Mary J. Blige filed for divorce from her husband/manager, Kendu Isaacs, after 13 years of marriage. At the time, Kendu asked that Mary shell out $129,319 per month so that he could maintain the lifestyle he was accustomed to while married to the star. Mary argued that their prenuptial agreement did not entitle Kendu to any of her earnings. Despite Mary’s reasoning, she will be required to pay up, but not nearly as much as Kendu was asking for.
According to E! News, the judge has ordered Mary to pay Kendu $30,000 per month in temporary spousal support while the divorce continues to play out. She was also ordered to pay retroactively, dating back to September, and include his attorney’s fees. The grand total comes to about $235K.
