Tory Lanez has reportedly been placed under house arrest until the start of his trial in connection to the 2020 incident where he’s accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
Per TMZ, the decision came at a LA court appearance Monday where a judge ruled that the singer needed to be placed in home confinement until November 28, the start of the trial, due to allegations that he got into a physical altercation with August Alsina in Chicago last month.
Prosecutors reportedly argued that Lanez — whose real name is Daystar Peterson — continues to pose a threat to public safety and deserved to be remanded into custody, as they believed he violated the conditions of his bail in the Megan Thee Stallion case. However, the “Say It” singer’s attorney countered that no charges were filed in the Alsina case and that the incident involved “mere allegations.”
Superior Court Judge David Herriford rejected the prosecution’s motion seeking to have the 30-year-old musician be taken into custody without bail and instead placed him under home confinement.
Lanez will begin wearing an ankle monitor this Friday.
