In the incident, Santana, whose real name is Laron L. James, was on his way to San Francisco when a TSA agent spotted a gun in his carry-on bag. According to federal court documents, the 36-year-old was pacing back and forth at the checkpoint before the agent scanned his bag, and asked the security staff members to do so “expeditiously” because he was running late for the flight.

However, upon the screen, the agent found a loaded pistol with two .38-caliber rounds, which prompted Santana to flee the scene. Santana hopped in a taxi and turned himself in three days later on a weapons possession charge as a convicted felon and attempting to carry a weapon on an aircraft.
