Julie Andrews is giving fans hope for a Princess Diaries 3.
The famous actress said in an interview with The Talk that even though she thinks she’s getting too old for another film at 84, she would do it for Anne Hathaway.
“I’ve heard that there might be [a third film], it’s long been talked about, but nothing’s been on my desk or anything like that,” Andrews said. “I think I would. I’m getting awfully old and crotchety, I’m not sure if it’s the right timing.”
“But I think to work with Anne would be lovely again. And yeah, sure I’d be up for it. If a script comes in, let’s wait for that,” she added.
The director of the first two Princess Diaries movies Garry Marshall has since passed away, and Andrews says he was “really the nuts and bolts of it all.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And according to past interviews with the actors who play the royal grandmother/granddaughter duo, they both seem enthusiastic to start filming but say it’ll take the right timing.
“There is a script for the third movie,” Hathaway said in an interview last year with Andy Cohen. “I want to do it, Julie wants to do it, Debra Martin Chase, our producer, wants to do it. We all really want it to happen, it’s just we don’t want to do it unless it’s perfect because we love it just as much as you guys love it.”
