Tuesday, January 17th, wasn't a good day for married couple Todd and Julie Chrisley. The two reported to different prisons to carry out their sentences for fraud and tax evasion.

Todd & Julie Chrisley Check In To Prison To Serve Their Sentences

Just before her sentencing, Julie Chrisley opened up on her “Chrisley Confessions” podcast about her fate.

On Monday, November 21st, the Chrisleys were sentenced in their high-profile bank fraud and tax evasion case, with Todd receiving 12 years and Julie being sentenced to seven years in prison. The podcast episode aired two days after they learned their fates and highlighted Julie’s fears about her uncertain future.

“Everyone knows that we’re living through a nightmare,” the 49-year-old shared on her show.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” reality stars have flaunted their affluent lifestyle in front of viewers since 2014. They presented themselves as legitimate entrepreneurs, making money from real estate and other lucrative endeavors. However, according to the federal government, the couple submitted fraudulent documents in order to borrow millions from banks that they used to fund their luxurious cars, homes, clothing, and more. Their scheme brought in over $30 million, leading the Chrisleys to avoid filing taxes for several years.

During the podcast in the days leading up to sentencing, Julie described her “fear” as “false evidence appearing real,” insinuating that the case built against them is based on lies. Todd shared a similar sentiment in September on the podcast but was confident that the truth would prevail.

After hearing the judgment, the couple was reportedly distraught but already plans to appeal the rulings in the near future. In the wake of the guilty verdicts, their television series, “Chrisley Knows Best” and “Growing Up Chrisley,” which focused on their children’s lives, were both canceled.
