In a brief but emotional meeting, Julie Greenwald confirmed her departure as CEO of Atlantic Records. Addressing the team, Greenwald acknowledged her dismissal and announced she would step down from her role on October 1. She will continue to serve as a consultant for the label through the end of the year, after which she plans to retire.
This significant change comes in the wake of Warner Music Group (WMG) CEO Robert Kyncl’s announcement that Elliot Grainge will take over as CEO of Atlantic Records. Additionally, Max Lousada will be stepping down as head of recorded music at WMG.
The transition marks a new chapter for Atlantic Records as the company prepares for fresh leadership under Grainge.
