Jussie Smollet’s Brother Says The Actor Was Placed Into The Psych Ward In Jail For Being At Risk For Self-Harm [Video]

Jussie Smollet has officially been placed in the psych ward at the Cook County Jail.

Jussie’s brother, Jocqui Smollet, took to the actor’s Instagram to share a few updates about Jussie’s situation. He began the video by saying, “So Jussie is currently in a psych ward at the Cook County Jail. What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to his paperwork today saying that he’s at risk of self-harm.”

However, Jocqui says the claims of his brother being at risk for self-harming are inaccurate.

“I want to make it clear that he is in no way, shape, or form at risk of self-harm,” Jocqui added. “He wants to let folks know that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is very healthy and ready to take on the challenge that..has been put up against him.”

According to TMZ, law enforcement told the outlet that Jussie was placed in the psych ward because the high-profile inmates were housed there.

As we’ve previously reported, Jussie is currently serving a 5-month sentence after faking a racial and homophobic attack. Jussie was found guilty last Thursday and repeatedly stated that he was not suicidal during the sentencing.
