Justin Bieber has officially responded to growing speculation that he was involved in Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles.
A rep for Bieber told TMZ that while he’s been linked to Diddy online due to past appearances, he is not one of the music mogul’s alleged victims.
“Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims,” the rep said. “There are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him, and shifting focus from that reality only takes away from the justice those victims deserve.”
The speculation came after old video clips resurfaced of Bieber and Diddy during the early 2010s, when Bieber was still a teenager.
One of the most circulated clips is from a 2011 Jimmy Kimmel Live! interview where Diddy made vague comments about spending time with Bieber.
“He knows better than to be talking about things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television,” Diddy said.
The clips reignited concern, especially in light of Diddy’s current legal situation. He’s facing federal charges related to sex trafficking in New York, and several celebrities have been dragged into the conversation online.
However, sources close to Bieber emphasized there was no inappropriate relationship between the singer and Diddy. They said their interactions were public, limited, and mostly centered around Bieber being friendly with Diddy’s sons.
According to those sources, Bieber was never harmed or mistreated by Diddy in any way.
Despite how the clips may appear out of context, Bieber’s team made it clear that rumors are false, and the attention should be on those who are truly affected.
