K. Michelle Breaks Down In Tears Talking About Idris Elba (VIDEO)

By now we’ve all heard the story of Idris Elba and K. Michelle’s 8-month relationship but that doesn’t mean the “Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart” singer doesn’t still get emotional over it.

While on the Russ Parr Morning Show recently, K. Michelle was asked about her break up with Idris (who’s girlfriend Naiyana Garth gave birth to their son in April) and the singer broke down crying and left the interview midway.“He knows with my music, I’m the Black Taylor Swift. I’m going to write about you and I’m going to talk about you. He really has no choice. Within the last week, I haven’t spoken to him about it. I’m sure he’s a little bothered, but my thing is, I feel like I’ve protected you for so long. These are my emotions that I deserve…I have to protect myself and deal with my emotions. I love him and always will,” she explains to the morning show before breaking down. She also went on to say that she and Idris didn’t break up on bad terms.  “It’s not a hate thing and we don’t hate each other, it’s a timing thing.” Russ Parr called for a commercial break to allow K. Michelle to gather herself and that’s where the recording stops.

In previous interviews K. Michelle says she and Idris’ 8-month affair ended when his son was born. Knowing that she didn’t want to be the reason for a broken home the singer says she sent  him back home where he belonged. She’s also admitted in several interviews that Idris is very aware of the records she wrote about him and that she’s even let him listen. This is the first time she’s ever broken down in tears on-air, though.

Idris on the other hand has been pretty quiet on the subject. He’s yet to confirm or deny his relationship with K. The most he’s done was tweet a “winky face” and a Santa Clause emoji after a fan on Twitter said his standards were low and that apparently anyone has a shot. Was Idris calling himself a “ho ho ho” with the emoji or was that a subliminal shot at the tweeter or K. Michelle? No one knows what it means but it keeps the people going.

Randomly while researching, I noticed in her recent interview with The Breakfast Club K. Michelle says she met Idris at the Soul Train Awards (November) and they dated for 8 months. Idris took his very pregnant girlfriend Naiyana to the Golden Globes in January and she gave birth in April. 8 months after November (assuming she meant November 2013 since it coincides with the time Idris and K. Michelle worked on their musical together) would put their break up at July. Any time before that would have possibly overlapped with her and JR Smith or Lance Stephenson.
